where would words be found to fill the empty space?
in an empty sack perhaps or maybe an old cigar box
lying loose as though not thought over carefully
the ideas tricks the mind plays on itself
the space occupying happenstance like a bundle
on a beggar's back while he leans peering into
a garbage bin in an alley behind a bar
the scenario fits the climate
